These Dulce de Leche Rice Krispies with M&M's® Crispy are brought to you in part by Collective Bias® and its advertiser to help you incorporate new and fun ways to enjoy M&M's® Crispy! As always, the recipe and opinions in this post are my own. #CrispyComeback #CollectiveBias
They're back!!! Do you remember the days of M&M's® Crispy? If not, just imagine your classic M&M's® with a crispy rice center! They are colorful and oh so fun to eat! Or have you seen this commercial announcing that they're so good, they're back? These babies actually were so popular that they decided to bring them back due to customer request.
To help celebrate, I picked up a couple packages at my local CVS store to share a special recipe that incorporates these delightful and fun candies! You can find individual sized packages that you can eat while on the run (hey, a pack only contains 180 calories!) or you can buy a larger package to make some fun treats!
I decided to make a a twist on a classic dessert recipe to help mimic the crispy center of the M&M's® but decided to do so with a Latin flair! I thought, how good would these be not only with M&M's® Crispy, but also with dulce de leche?
For those of you who may ask, dulce de leche is like a Mexican caramel, but is made with sweetened condensed milk. You can usually find this in the baking aisle or the Hispanic foods section. It's now widely available and you can usually find it in your local grocery store.
Anyway, these bars came out fantastic! They are gooey with a caramel and marshamallow flavor with fun bites of chocolate! The crispy rice cereal complements the crispy rice center of the candies perfectly. The candies retain their crunch, so they make an extra fun and colorful bite as your eating.

Dulce de Leche Rice Krispies with M&M's® Crispy
slightly adapted from Mallow and Co.
6 c. crispy rice cereal
1 1/2 c. M&M's® Crispy
4 Tbs. unsalted butter
10 oz. package mini marshmallows
3/4 c. dulce de leche
1 tsp. vanilla extract
Line a 9x9 pan with aluminum foil. Grease and set aside.
Pour the cereal and M&M's in a large mixing bowl and set aside.
Melt the butter and dulce de leche in a saucepan over low heat. Once melted add in the marshmallows, and stir until melted. Add vanilla and stir to combine.
Take the saucepan off heat and let sit for a minute or two.
Pour mixture over the cereal and candy mixture. Stir lightly to combine (careful not to break the candies), then spread into prepared pan. Allow to cool 5 minutes, then press into pan with greased hands to make an even layer. Set in fridge to cool for 1-5 hours. Remove from pan, cut into squares.
